White Cape Cod

Looking out of my office window while trying to decide on a blog, all I can see is a blanket of snow. Although I don't like winter and love spring, summer, and fall on the Cape, I have to admit the property looks beautiful and peaceful blanketed in snow. Even the pond across the street that is home to swans and many ducks is entirely white. The swans are resting on their nest nestled between the grasses.

This is the first time since 2006 when I arrived on the Cape that we've had any snow accumulation. It usually doesn't stay on the ground for long though. When the Boston area gets snow, it seldom snows on the Cape, but this time is an exception. As of 4:30pm we've had about 4 inches accumulation and it's still snowing. It should clear by tonight and the roads will be clean for weekend travel. Many have Martin Luther King's Birthday off and therefore have a long weekend, so we are booking well for the weekend (if it doesn't snow again)!
