Symphony on Cape Cod

This coming weekend, January 24 & 25, the Cape Symphony Orchestra in Hyannis will be playing Haydn's "The Creation", in celebration of the Haydn bicentennial, with conductor Jung-Ho Pak and guest artist Kristen Watson, soprano.

Haydn’s monumental masterpiece dramatically depicts the creation of heaven and earth, plants and animals, and on the last day, mankind. Presented following a more transparent and emotional approach than traditional performances of the work, the epic oratorio fuses an orchestra, a chorus and three vocal soloists representing three angels - Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael. In their debut with the CCSO, the world-renowned GloriƦ Dei Cantores chorus fills the hall with an authentic and compelling interpretation of this sacred music. A celebration of the Haydn bicentennial.
