What a weekend

It has been so busy that I didn't have time to write a new blog! This past weekend we sold out of our 61 rooms that are open this time of year and our breakfast diner, Helen's diner, was hopping with hungry families. I think that our northern New England friends had enough of the snow and decided to get a taste of Spring on the Cape. The weather was absolutely beautiful on Saturday so we had many last minute travelers.

We have also been working on converting our reservation system to RoomMaster and this has been a very slow tedious process. We are almost finished and are excited about the prospects of a more sofisticated system where we can record and track our customers special needs so that we can provide even better, customized service. I'm back on track so I will be keeping you better informed on activities and events on the Cape.

Easter on Cape Cod

Easter is fast approaching and the Cape is a beautiful place to enjoy Easter and the first days of Spring. The daffodils at the Tidewater have already started to poke up from the ground to take us from the dreary days of winter to the first signs of spring. Crocuses are in bloom, robins are plentiful and, of course, there is no snow. I'm already enjoying long walks on the beach on sunny afternoons.

Many restaurants close to the Tidewater are offering Easter dinner specials for the family. Also, many shops and restaurants that were closed for the winter are opening for the season. If you need a quick getaway, we at the Tidewater, welcome you to stay with us and offer a manager's special of $59.99 per night. Our diner is open on Saturday and Sunday mornings so that our guests can enjoy a hearty hot breakfast and our indoor heated pool and hot tub are available for fun and relaxation. Call us at 508-775-6322 for questions or to book a reservation.

Cape & Islands Wellness Expo

If you need a reason to come to the Cape other than rest and relaxation, why not come to attend the Cape & Islands Wellness Expo on March 8th from 10am to 6pm and on March 9th from 12pm to 4pm. This fair is the biggest health event on Cape Cod and is presented by Cape Healing Arts Magazine. Some of the finest educators, teachers and practitioners from the area will offer small informal classes. Workshop leaders, most from the local community, have volunteered their time to teach so that the workshops can be accessible to all. Most of the educators normally charge between $35 to $250 for the same workshops that are offered at a fraction of the price.

Keynote speaker will be Bernie Siegel, mind, body, spirit medicine pioneer and best selling author on the art of healing. His books include Love, Medicine & Miracles, Peace, Love & Healing, and How To Live Between Office Visits. A portion of the proceeds from Bernies's talk will be donated to the Cape's Kids Grieve Too!Program.

The Wellness Expo is located in The Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis (Formerly the Four Points by Sheraton). Before or after the Expo you can explore the many shops and restaurants on Main Street Hyannis, a short walk away. For detailed information and a schedule of workshops call 508-896-7117 or visit their website,

The Tidewater is only a five minute drive to the Wellness Expo and we are offering a special rate of $79.99 which includes breakfast and one ticket per night of stay. What better place to participate in improving your health than the Cape, where you can relax with peaceful walks on the beach. Call us at 800-338-6322 or 508-775-6322 for more information or to book a room.
