This is a perfect week to visit Nantucket and enjoy the "Nantucket Fall Restaurant Week". It starts on September 28th and lasts until October 4th, so there's still time. Enjoy gourmet food at some of the best restaurants prepared by the best chefs for a fraction of the cost. Meals range from $25 to $45 for a three course meal.

The weather has been beautiful this fall. Actually, far superior to the summer. If you come to the Cape we'd love to have you stay at the Tidewater and take a ferry to Nantucket for the day. Flower Show at the Heritage Musuems and Gardens

This weekend, the Heritage Musuems and Gardens celebrates it's 40th year with “September to Remember - A Standard Flower Show celebrating 40 years of Heritage Museums & Gardens.”

You'll be able to see dramatic floral designs, artistic crafts, educational exhibits and lush seasonal horticulture by the region’s most accomplished award-winning designers and horticulturalists. This event will be featured throughout the property in all three museums. Awards will be given out to arrangers in horticulture and design divisions whose creations best celebrate various Heritage themes such as Garden Jewels, Meadowlands, Patio Pleasures, The Families of Heritage, Heritage Hallmarks, and Heritage Exhibits to name a few.

I've visited the Gardens and it's a wonderful way to spend the day and being a gardener, the Flower Show will be an added bonus. Why not come to the Cape, enjoy the Scallop Festival in Bourne and then visit the Heritage Musuems and Gardens and enjoy their flower show. Visit their website, www.heritagemusuemsandgardens.com for more information.

Sagamore Bridge

As if the Cape didn't already have a tough time with the rainy summer and economic downturn. Tourists certainly weren't flocking to the Cape this summer. Now it's the bridge repair work that started Monday on the Sagamore Bridge. The normal four lanes have now been reduced to two lanes. This has caused miles of backups leading to and from the Sagamore Bridge. The Chamber has asked for improvements with increased signage, so we're hoping to see some improvements.

Today when my husband and I went home to Plymouth from the hotel it took us twice as long to get home. Next time we're going to try 6A to the bridge to see if this helps. Stay tuned.

Labor Day on the Cape

What a perfect weekend...warm, sunny days and cool evenings. Just right for enjoying the beach during the day. People flocked to the Cape to enjoy one last getaway before the routines of school of work begin again. The Tidewater was full of happy guests enjoying both our outdoor and indoor heated pools. Our landscaped picnic area overlooking Mill Pond was full of families and groups barbequing, picnicing, playing soccer, enjoying music, and children playing on the playground. It was good to see so many guests enjoying the outdoors and taking advantage of the picnic area.
