Rainy Day Activities

After an absolutely beautiful week with cool, sunny days, the rain has arrived! Friday has been windy with intermittent rain. Our in house golf group came back from the golf course rather went and in need of early check in to get into dry clothes! We are hoping tomorrow will be more golf friendly.

Although I enjoy the occasionally stormy day, I know that this weather doesn't beckon people to the Cape. I thought maybe activities for rainy days might be appropriate. Of course if you're coming to the Cape to relax, our indoor heated pool and new hot tub is a great place to relax and spend the afternoon swimming, soaking in the tub and reading a book.

I love to watch the ocean when the weather is inclement and sometimes drive to a beach and observe the ocean from the comfort of my car. One of my front office employees, Charles, who is a native of the Cape suggests driving to Coast Guard Beach in the National Seashore, bringing a box lunch, and parking on the bluff to "watch the breakers and the seagulls & terns fighting the wind". Kalmus Beach in Hyannis is very popular with wind surfers on day like to today.

Of course there are a myriad of museums in the area including the Cultural Center, Maritime Museum, JFK Museum, Cahoon Museum of Art, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Cape Cod Children's Museum. This is just a short list of the museums for there are many more.

There's also shopping at the Cape Cod Mall. For the children and families bowling at Ryan's Family Amusement is a fun way to spend the afternoon or evening. We are offering a Rainy Day Special of $59.99 per night so call us at 508-775-6322 to book your room.
