Wow! Summer's almost over. A very hectic two months with both swimming pools and the picnic area full of families came to a very abrupt end. This morning our breakfast diner was hopping and full of the laughter (and whinning) of children but after 11 o'clock checkout a sudden calm fell over the hotel. We had a wonderful summer with over 25% of our guests being return customers. We also met many new families and couples many of whom commented how family and group friendly our hotel was. We had several family reunions and a couple of wedding parties who enjoyed the facility. My favorite part of my job as General Manager is meeting my guests and keeping up with our regulars who return on a regular basis.
While we still have many guests who are enjoying the beautiful weather and the sudden drop in rates, they are for the most part older retired couples that have the time and leisure to travel off season. This is actually my favorite time on Cape Cod. The traffic is better, the weather is still beautiful, and no long waits in my favorite restaurants. And for our customers, the best part is a sudden drop in rates. This week we are running a manager's special of $69.99 midweek and $79.99 on weekends.
