Downtown Hyannis

Went to Hyannis again Thursday evening hoping that there would be live music downtown as there was last week. We we pleasantly surprised that there was still some live music on the sidewalks although not as much as before. Being very hungry, my husband and I decided to have dinner and chose Columbo's since there was a three man jazz band serenading those eating outdoors. We decided to wait for a table even though the wait was 40 minutes. We were just about to leave when a table for two opened outside. As soon as we sat down and had a glass of wine while listening to the relaxing music all the annoyance and stress washed away. To add to our enjoyment, a young lady with a beautiful voice joined the group and sang several songs.

Along with the wonderful music, we had one of the most amazing meals! I ordered one of their specials of risotto with chicken and tomatoes. Yum! My husband had steak tips with smashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. It came out steaming hot and was perfectly cooked. Both meals were perfect and the atmosphere and music couldn't have been better. Even though I was initially annoyed at having to wait so long, I recommend Columbo's highly. Their food is fresh, simple, creatively cooked and reasonably priced. Next time I'd like to go in the afternoon and have some coffee and desserts. Their desserts looked great, but we had no room for any dessert.
