Whale Watching on Cape Cod

One of the favorite activities on Cape Cod is Whale Watching and this should prove to be one of the best years. In mid April groups of right whales were seen feeding and lounging near the surface in Race Point in Provincetown. They have actually been visible from the beach! The northern right whale is the world's most endangered great whale with an estimated 350 individuals remaining. State and federal officials say that an unprecedented number of right whales are feeding in the bay, with between 50 and 100 estimated to be in Cape Cod Bay. Typically, only 30 to 50 are seen in the spring when right whales return from breeding grounds off Georgia and Florida.

There two companies that offer whale watching:
The Dolphin Fleet in Provincetown, 800-826-9300, www.whalewatch.com
Hyannis Watcher in Barnstable Harbor,800-287-0374, www.whales.net

The Tidewater offers whale watching packages and we can reserve and do all the work for you. You only have to come and enjoy, we'll do the rest!
