Heritage Museum is Opening

Now that April has arrived many attractions, shops and restaurants that are closed during the off season reopen. One of my favorite places to visit in the spring is the HERITAGE MUSEUM & GARDENS which reopened on April 1st. The Heritage Museums & Garden features three distinctive museum buildings set on 100 acres of gorgeous gardens. It is a wonderful place to spend a spring day walking the grounds and enjoying the vivid colors of the rhododendrons and daffodils. The flowers change with the seasons, so each season gives a different view of the gardens. During the holidays the grounds are a popular place to get into the holiday spirit with the enchanting light displays.

The Shaker round barn replica houses a collection of antique automobiles, the Art Museum houses an extensive collection of American folk art and an antique hand-carved carousel. The American History Museum houses military and Native American artifacts as well as antique toys. You can spend the entire day here and enjoy the lunch at the Carousel Cafe or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the beautiful grounds. Throughout the year there are car shows, family events, workshops, and concerts.

The grounds open daily from April to October 31st from 10am to 5pm. For more details visit their website www.heritagemuseumsandgardens.org or call 508-888-3300. The Tidewater is offering a special price of $59.99 to $79.99 during the months of April and May (excludes holidays). We'd love to have you stay with us when planning your getaway to the Cape.
