Sandwich Glass Museum

During the 1800's the Cape Cod town of Sandwich was home to the Sandwich Glass Company.  The factory closed down in 1888 but the Sandwich Historical Society honored the art of glass making by opening the Sandwich Glass Museum. The museum features glass blowing demonstrations, galleries to display art glass, and halls dedicated to Sandwich's glassmaking past, as well as a film presentation on the history of glass-making in Sandwich. There are two entirely different exhibit halls: one exhibit displays the museum's pieces of historical glass, many pieces from Sandwich Glass Factory which have been returned to the town. The other exhibit hall showcases modern exhibits of glass. The museum is certainly worth a visit if you're on the Cape. For more information visit their website, http://www.sandwichglassmuseum.org/.
