The Cape is home to many of Portuguese descent who originally came to the Cape to work in the fishing industry or in the cranberry bogs. This coming week, beginning on Thursday, June 23th they celebrate their heritage with the Provincetown Portuguese Festival. It's a four day event that takes place throughout town and features food, music, dance and more. It begins on Thursday with Compartilhe Na Nossa Mesa or "share our table", an event showcasing food from Provincetown's restaurants. Be sure to make reservations.  There will be a parade on Saturday and the festival will finish with the Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday.

Check out their website, http://www.provincetownportuguesefestival.com/ for a schedule of events. This event was voted one of the top 100 events in the U.S. Sounds like a fun way to explore a new culture. Provincetown is also a beautiful and fun city to visit.

Downtown Plymouth and More...

Had a day off today! After cleaning & shopping went to Plymouth Waterfront and my husband and I had a late lunch at Cabby's overlooking the harbor. Beautiful views and wonderful seafood. Cheated and had fried calamari and onion rings. I don't eat fried food often but it was yummy. Then home to play in the dirt until it was too dark to see. I was just going to pull a few weeds but got carried away as usual and expanded my rock garden. Off to work tomorrow at the Tidewater ...almost sold out for Saturday night. Call me at 508-775-6322 if you're coming to the Cape...still off season rates, but not for long. Peak season rates begin on June 25th. Perfect time to come to the Cape and still enjoy rates as low as $69.
